Ad Provincia Phuket: Wandering back to the south

On Monday night, the Wanderer set off from his lonely Samut Songkhram apartment with his Alice US military sack packed full of clothes, books, and documents, his guitar and computer, and headed for Manao intersection near the Phetchaburi-Samut Songkhram-Ratchaburi border on Rama II expressway.

Kru Pisit and his wife, Kru Ruenjit were kind enough to drive him to the tour bus checkpoint/pick up spot some 25 minutes to the west of Samut Songkhram city. After saying goodbye to his drivers circa 7pm, the Wanderer sat down and played guitar, waiting some 2 hours along side the highway for his Bangkok originated, Phuket-bound bus, which arrived just after 9 pm as the rains came pouring down.

So what was/is the Wanderer heading to Phuket for, you may be wandering… Why, to be with his son, who currently lives there with his grandmother and mother, a Phuket native in the provinces capital, Phuket city.

As is the arangement, until the Wanderer is stable and secure to provide for a family properly, young Django will grow up in Phuket while his father studies and works to make ends meet in Central Thailand.

Since it is the October school break, the Wanderer has relocated to Phuket for at least two weeks, perhaps longer, to take advantage of the off time to be with his son as the next few years back at University will offer even less opportunity for father-son bonding at such crucial years. Its been about a month since last he was with his son, and boy, do kids grow up fast!

The Wanderer announces no official big plans in Phuket other than to lax around the inlaw’s house with the boy while the mom is away at her new job as a Bank Teller. As for upcoming evenings/weekends, perhaps a visit to the beach, some surfing, and some beers and karaoke with a friend will fill the wanderer’s plate over the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
