"I am not a monkey ! "

...Proclaimed the business man,

"For I was made superior ,

...By god's master plan ..."

As confident as he may have sounded

To the average soul,

I knew by the crack in his voice

Behind the trained barrier of his expression

That he knew I knew he knew might I mention

Our line of descent wasn't by choice

And he was only fooling himself,

With stories better left back on the shelf

If you believe in God, you believe in elves.

Use some reason to know the truth

Humans created the concept not the other way around

Once you can see the 'real light', it's profound

Now whether our path had been

Not by sacrifices and cleansing of sin

But of a natural process, based on sexual selection

But Not in one's hand, an idea of perfection

By some imaginary man in the clouds

That you bet your life on faith's reflection

Of what I call blind hope and you are so proud

Is it not clear who really needs a blessing?
